The fifth workshop of the Broad Based Capacity Development, Mother Tongue Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) programme was successfully conducted from the 3rd to the 20th of February at the Novotel Hotel, Yangon.
The purpose of the workshop was to equip participants with the skills to create pre-reading and pre-writing materials in order to create a curriculum plan for Kindergarten (KG) and Grade 1 (G1) (depending on group preference).
At first, it was challenging for the participants but by the end of the workshop, each language group had drafted their pre-reading and pre-writing lesson plans, curriculum framework for KG and some for Grade 1. The groups will carry on finishing their curriculum assignment during March and April.
Assigned teams of mentors for each language group will also complete field visits to provide hands on technical support and to review the participants’ materials for quality assurance. MEC also presented about the Myanmar Basic Education Law and Basic Education Curriculum Framework during the workshop.
