As part of Save the Children International (SCI), MEC adopted the SCI child safeguarding policy.
MEC has an established Child Safeguarding Plan in place which was designed to address some of the challenges in working with a large number of diverse partner organisations. MEC supports partners to develop and implement their own Child Safeguarding policies and uses a Safeguarding Checklist for partner compliance. Child safeguarding risks will be considered throughout the partners’ program planning and evaluation cycles. Risk evaluations and management strategies will be presented to the Steering Committee as part of partnership management.
